Computer Center
The computer Center is one of the most developed divisions of Western University. Taking into account that the university trains the experts of the 21st century, compulsory computer training of students is included to the curriculum, irrespective of the chosen speciality. The Computer Center consists of six laboratories.
There are auditoriums for classes on design studies programs and computer technologies, the Internet Center. The Center offers up-to-date computers, which are connected to local network, and have access to the Internet.
Students learn how to work with programs such as Windows NT4, Windows-2000, Windows XP programming: Delphi, Pascal, Fox Pro. Furthermore, students are provided the opportunity to work with design programs such as Corel Draw, Photoshop, AutoCAD, etc.
Teachers and students of the university also have an opportunity to take advantage of the catalogue of CD-ROMs. The catalogue includes such sections as multistage programs for studying English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese etc. languages, 40 titles of encyclopaedias, materials on business, management, history, philosophy, culture, design and many others.
Every day 70-100 students and teachers of WU access resources of the World Wide Web to obtain the required information. All administrative staff, teachers and students of the university may open e-mail accounts. More than 100 users visit the Center each week from other organizations.
